Nancy Halsey, NP-C
Nurse practitioner Nancy Halsey’s daughter was five years old when she was diagnosed with cancer. Without access to a local oncology center, her daughter was treated in Denver. Nancy quit her full-time teaching position to devote all of her time and attention to her daughter, and she and her family made frequent trips from their Wyoming home to Denver. During that time, that Nancy saw a number of shortcomings within the cancer treatment system, including a lack of timeliness, care and education. After her daughter successfully completed her treatment, Nancy enrolled in school to become an oncology nurse and address the inadequacies she experienced. Caring for the patient on an individualized level is now Nancy’s top priority and with a team that shares her philosophy, she now provides the kind of treatment she thought her daughter should have had. Nancy’s daughter is now in college.
